AVITI Technology

The AVITI is a short-read sequencing instrument from Element Biosciences.  The AVITI sequences Illumina-style short read libraries.  Any next-generation sequencing library that can be sequenced on an Illumina instrument can be sequenced on the AVITI without any alteration.  Data are returned as FASTQ files just like those produced by Illumina instruments.  Bioinformatics pipelines do not have to be changed to accomodate AVITI FASTQ files.  The AVITI produces very accurate data with more than 85% of reads having quality scores of Q30 or better.  These high quality reads are produced by avidite based chemistry and sequencing by binding.
